After a shoot, I like scrubbing through the dailies to find a frame or two that I can share on Instagram. I also like seeing details when you play back on the camera’s monitor but you don’t get that information when you’re reviewing footage on a computer.

Since I couldn’t find anything on the Internet, I decided to make my own overlay to simulate what you’d see from the camera. This overlay is party inspired by the information you would see on a RED cinema camera’s monitor.

Here’s a free Photoshop PSD to fake that camera monitor playback information on your frame grabs. This is a frame grab from a recent corporate video shoot with this overlay.

This overlay is free to use in any personal or commercial projects. By downloading, you agree not to resell or redistribute this free camera monitor playback overlay asset.
